There is so much inspiration in the world. I like to take those beautiful shapes and colours and amp them up with vivid colour in thick buttery acrylics and soft inky washes. I love to combine natures elements with my own imaginings and create something in between...something not quite real but evocative enough to take you with me into the beautiful, quirky abstract world of my own imagination.
I have been interested in art, in colour, in design, in making a mess, since I was little. The best part of story books were always the pictures. From drawing in the sand, to drawing in chalk on the driveway art has always been a constant in my life in one form or another. I studied art all through high school and was accepted into a visual arts degree at university but decided to defer and go travelling instead (who wouldn't :) I lived in the UK for many years and painted and exhibited my work in galleries in Glasgow. From here I sold pieces to Europe, the UK and Japan.
Returning to Australia I discovered many other mediums...in particular polymer clay and mosaics. My polymer clay work has been displayed in art magazines and my stained glass mosaic work has traveled around the world in the form of donated pieces for auctions...in particular for Doctors Without Borders and donations for community projects such as schools and hospitals in the USA, and to the Steve Irwin mosaic memorial at Australia Zoo in Queensland. Now I mostly spend my time painting in acrylic, inks and mixed media.

All money raised will go towards vital funding for more research and to help those and their families to keep fighting for[…]
Wow. I was really excited to find out my painting ‘Spring Fling’ won a special artists recognition award from the Lightspacetime online botanical art exhibition! There were over 800 entries and I think about 75 were nominated for a special recognition award…so I was really surprised and delighted to be picked. I even made it into[…]
I thought I would go a little free range with my new inks. They are lovely and vibrant with a beautiful transparency perfect for overlaying with paint or collage or other media. Add some water to make them run wild and a little salt to create some patterns and you have a beautiful first layer[…]
